Sometimes it takes awhile to get back into writing.
Sometimes it takes me even longer to realize there’s a hidden gem right down the block.
It’s probably not going to be this weekend (it’s a fix stuff around the house kind of a weekend) but consider this a bookmark for stocking up on rum.
Until we post again, may your tiki bar dreams come true…
In honor of “The Big Game” (please don’t sue me, Roger Goodell), I humbly submit to you, dear reader, that the Saints got robbed (bite me, Roger Goodell.)
Garden and Gun has offered up a nifty cocktail to commemorate this, and I recommend it for your drinking pleasure.
There’s a joke about Tom Brady and underinflated balls in here somewhere, but I’m not going to reach around that far.
Poor Thanksgiving. It’s been run over from behind by Christmas already. The radio stations were playing Christmas music shortly after Halloween, and Black Friday has spilled over into Thanksgiving day itself.
But it’s still a day to get together with family and enjoy their company. Whether you’re looking for a drink to unwind with or you need a little liquid courage to make it through the afternoon, we’ve got you covered.
In the late 1980s, I worked at a radio station that catered to a Hispanic audience and was heavy on the club music of the day. One of the things I learned was the phrase “Can I request a song?” or “Can you play (song)” doesn’t translate well from Spanish into English. The closest you can get is “Can you put on (song)?” and more often it would come out “Could you put (artist)?” We used to joke around that we needed to get the voice guy to do a “Power 92 Puts!” drop for us that we could mix in with “Dance your ass off.”
